Radermacher Distillery was founded in 1836 and is one of the oldest distilleries in Belgium, now run by the fifth generation of the founding family. The distillery is located in Raeren, a medieval village in the Eastern part of Belgium, between the Belgian city of Liege, the Dutch city of Maastricht and the German city of Aachen. Still today Raeren is famous for the history of its pottery centre which used to be the biggest and most important one north of the Alps between the 14th and the 16th century.
Next to the traditional beverages such as brandies, gins and liqueurs, Radermacher Distillery also offers two ales:
Rader Blonde
6.5% abv,
Rader Ambree
10.5% abv
Their distinctiveness is founded on their special relation with two genuine and ancient Belgian flavors – beer and gin.
The recipes are based on the ones used by the abbey monk’s centuries ago and include only the purest ingredients such as fine Belgian barley malt, an aromatic blend of hops, uniquely cultivated yeast and well water. The natural distillates (malt flavor for Rader Ambrée and gin flavor for Rader Blonde) are added prior to the secondary fermentation which takes place in the bottle and adds to the ale's richness and body.
Both ales are unfiltered and unpasteurized and are available in 11.2 fl. oz. and 25.4 fl. oz. bottles and in 20L kegs.
